OnePlus Launches its Most-Expensive Smartphone Yet What Buyers Need to know


The OnePlus 7 Pro is the most expensive smartphone to be ever launched by OnePlus in India. The OnePlus 7 Pro takes on the likes of iPhone XR, Samsung Galaxy S10, Google Pixel 3a XL and others. Also, OnePlus claims that the OnePlus 7 Pro is one of the most beautiful and powerful phones that it has ever created. Here is everything you need to know about the new OnePlus 7 Pro.

1. OnePlus 7 Pro is the first smartphone in India to run Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 processor.

2. OnePlus 7 Pro is the first OnePlus smartphone to offer a triple-lens camera of 48MP resolution : The phone offers a triple-lens camera setup of 48MP Sony IMX586 sensor with OIS, EIS, 7P lens and f/1.6 aperture. In addition, there is a 16MP Ultra Wide angle camera with f/2.2 aperture and 117 FoV along with an 8MP telephoto camera with 3X optical zoom, OIS and f/2.4 aperture.

3. OnePlus 7 Pro is the largest OnePlus phone with a 6.7-inch display curved on both sides without any notch : OnePlus 7 Pro offers a 6.7-inch QHD+ (3120x1440 pixels) resolution Fluid AMOLED display with 18.5:9 aspect ratio, HDR10 support and a pixel density of 516ppi.

4. The back panel of the OnePlus 7 Pro is also made of glass.

5. OnePlus 7 Pro comes with a pop-up selfie camera. This is the first OnePlus phone to offer a pop-up camera.

6. OnePlus 7 Pro comes in three memory options-- 6GB/128GB, 8GB/256GB and 12GB RAM/256GB.

7. The OnePlus 7 Pro starts at Rs 48,999 for the 6GB RAM version while the 8GB RAM and 12GB RAM options costs Rs 52,999 and Rs 57,999 respectively.

8. The OnePlus 7 Pro is backed by a 4,000mAh battery with Warp Charge 30 fast charging technology.

9. OnePlus 7 Pro runs on the latest OxygenOS?9.5 operating system backed by Android 9.0 Pie.

10. The OnePlus 7 Pro is equipped with a stereo dual-speaker system powered by Dolby Atmos.

11. OnePlus 7 Pro is not IP68 dust and waterproof.

12. There is no 3.5mm headphone jack on the OnePlus 7 Pro.

13. No wireless charging : The new OnePlus smartphones too come without wireless charging. And as always, the company says that its wired charging option is better than wireless charging. OnePlus claims that wireless charging is not as superfast as the wired charging option.

14. Screen replacement may cost you Rs 15,000 : Buyers have a 'Rs 15,000 reason' to be extra careful about their OnePlus 7 Pro's screen. As though the company has not officially revealed the screen-replacement cost of OnePlus 7 Pro, Amazon India's website was offering free screen replacement worth Rs 15,000 to all customers who pre-booked the smartphone. "Prebook at Rs 1,000 and get 6 months free screen replacement worth Rs 15,000," said the pre-booking offer on Amazon. The offer suggests that the cost of replacing the display of OnePlus 7 Pro will most likely be around Rs 15,000.

There's also an 'affordable' new OnePlus smartphone, OnePlus 7 : For all those looking to buy a new OnePlus smartphone, but don't want to shell out almost Rs 50,000 there's also a cheaper option -- OnePlus 7. The smartphone is slimmed-down version of OnePlus 7 Pro and runs on the same processor, operating system and comes with similar selfie camera. As for differences, OnePlus 7 Pro boasts of much better design, display and is the company's first phone to come with triple-lens camera. OnePlus 7, on the other hand, has same design and display as the last year's OnePlus 6T.
