Redmi Go priced at Rs, 4,499 and Xiaomi has launched an exclusive online payment platform Mi Pay. Samsung Galaxy’s A40 has been leaked and Xiaomi is trying its hand at the foldable smartphones. Oppo has officially announced Oppo AX5s and Apple’s iPad Air, iPad Mini have been launched at Indian pricing.

1. Redmi Go Launched at Rs. 4,499 : Xiaomi’s first ever Android Go smartphone has been launched and at 4,499 bucks only, whereas, the phone was estimated to be available for less than that. Redmi Go comes with a basic design and thick bezels too. The phone has only one variant 1GB RAM and 8GB, however, the ROM can be expanded up to 128 GB.

. Does Redmi Go At Rs 4,499 Justify Its Price? Specs Breakdown : Redmi Go will go against the likes of JioPhone 2, Nokia 1, Samsung Galaxy J2 Core and Micromax Bharat Go.

. Old Design & Display Technology : The smartphone comes with a plastic back. It’s a very basic design with a similar body as the Redmi 5A. The smartphone comes with thick bezels on the sides with nothing to out for. One may say it’s too much to ask for, but there are basic smartphones with features like 18:9 widescreen display and dual cameras under 5,000 bucks.

. Similar Specs As Redmi 5A : In terms of hardware, Redmi Go features the same processor as the Redmi 5A. Redmi Go is a spin-off of the much-loved Desh Ka Smartphone, Redmi 5A. The smartphone runs on the same Qualcomm Snapdragon 425 chipset.

Unlike Redmi 5A, the phone comes in only one variant with 1GB RAM and 8GB of internal storage. The memory can further be expanded up to 128GB via microSD card.



2. Xiaomi’s Mi Pay to Combat with Paytm : Xiaomi has launched its new online payment app, Mi Pay, which will also have a UPI facility. They have unveiled a special offer for its users in India. Users can win 100 Redmi Note 7, 50 Mi TVs provided they make payments using the Xiaomi’s Mi Pay. This app will be backed by ICICI Bank. Mi Pay is a closed app which will enable users to transfer money between the app users.

. Mi Pay App Is Now In India : While launching their cheapest smartphone in India: Redmi Go, Xiaomi has also announced the launch of Mi Pay payments app.

As part of their special offer, Mi Pay users in India can win 100 Redmi Note 7, 50 Mi TVs, and all they need to do is use the app for making payments.

Mi Pay app was initially launched in China in 2016, and in India, they offered beta testing of the app since December last year. In February this year, Mi Pay app became a part of MIUI 10 Global Beta ROM, and now, the app is available for all to download.

. Mi Pay App: 7 Interesting Features

This a closed payments app, and only Xiaomi users can download it from the Mi Apps store.

Being a closed app, only Xiaomi users can transfer money between each other, using Mi Pay app.

For making any payment or transferring funds to any other merchant (movies, restaurants, grocery, petrol etc), Mi Pay app will use UPI’s platform.

ICICI Bank will provide the financial backend of this app.

Mi Pay will be deeply integrated with the MIUI interface, and this makes it super-interesting. Users can make the payment while accessing SMS, Contacts, App Vault, and Camera scanner apps and more, within their smartphone.

Hence, users are not required to open the app everytime to make any payment

Mi Pay has been approved by NPCI, and the data of this app will be stored within India. This has been clarified by Xiaomi.



3. Samsung Galaxy A40 Leaked : German website WinFuture.de has allegedly leaked official renders of Galaxy A40. Apparently, the phone will have an Infinity-U Display and a waterdrop notch. Rumour is that the phone will function on Exynos 7885 SoC, and will have 4GB of RAM, and 64GB of internal storage. Additionally, it will have the Android 9 Pie update.



4. Xiaomi’s Foldable Smartphone : Foldable smartphones are the latest development in smartphone technology and Xiaomi’s foldable smartphone is set to make its debut in the second quarter of 2019. It will probably be called Mi Fold or Mi Flex and will cost half as much as Samsung Galaxy Fold – which is Samsung’s recently launched foldable smartphone. Also, it is said to be functioning on Snapdragon 855 chipset and will come with 8GB to 10GB of RAM.

Oppo AX5s is Official : Oppo AX5s is set to be launched in the mid-range phone category and it will function on Helio P35 SoC. the previous phone, AX5 was powered with Snapdragon 450 SoC. the specifications of the phone are also out and it will have a 6.2-inch HD+ (720×1520 pixels) display with a waterdrop notch. It will have Android 8.1 with Color OS 5.2 and a 4,230mAh battery, 3GB of RAM, and 64GB ROM.

Apple iPad Air, iPad Mini launched at Indian Pricing : Apple launched the iPad Air (2019) and the iPad Mini (2019), its midrange devices that will be working on Apple’s A12 Bionic chipset with a neural engine. Both the devices will come in two variants – WiFi and WiFi + LTE. The iPad Mini will be priced at Rs 34,900 for the WiFi model and Rs 45,900 for the WiFi + cellular model. Price of the iPad Air starts at Rs 44,900 for the WiFi model and Rs 55,900 for the WiFi + cellular model.
