Samsung Galaxy S9 specifications

Samsung is all set to launch its next flagship smartphone next month at MWC 2018 conference. The South Korean tech firm has already confirmed the launch but has not yet revealed anything else about the device. Although we have a bit of an idea what the device may pack as a new leak has shown the alleged retail box of the Galaxy S9, cementing some of the previous claims.

According to the leaked image -- showing the back side of the retail box of 'Galaxy S9' shared by a user on Reddit -- the handset sports curved edges like before. The entire AMOLED screen (including the curved portion) will measure 5.8-inch. The resolution will stay the same as the Galaxy S8, which is Quad HD+. The specifications also stress on the handset's camera. The retail box mentions the Samsung Galaxy S9 to sport a 'Super Speed Dual Pixel' 12MP camera with Optical Image Stabilisation.

What's interesting is that the camera might be able to switch between two apertures - F/1.5 and F/2.4. For those unaware, this feature has already been introduced in the company's W2018 flip smartphone. There will also be the ability to shoot 'Super Slow-mo' videos.

At the front there will be an 8MP autofocus camera. The Galaxy S9 will also be boasting of a stereo speaker tuned by AKG. Some of the other features mentioned on the retail box are IP68 rating (dust and water resistance), Iris scanner, 64GB inbuilt storage, 4GB RAM and wireless charging. The box will also include earphones tuned by AKG. DJ Koh, president of Samsung's mobile business at CES 2018 confirmed the arrival of the company's 'first flagship' smartphone at MWC 2018.

He even added that Samsung is planning to launch its first foldable smartphone. Talking about company's own virtual assistant, Bixby, which was launched last year, Koh said that this year users will also get Bixby 2.0. It will be coming to all virtual assistants by 2020.
