Apple TV Plus taking on Netflix at Rs. 99 month - Details here

A few hours ago, Apple held an event in California and unveiled a bunch of products, including a fancy iPhone 11 family, an updated iPad, and Apple Watch Series 5.

The hardware, as always, marked the key highlight of the show but there was also something else that drew our attention - Apple TV+ and its tempting pricing.

Here's all about it.

Availability Apple TV+ to debut on November 1 in India

First announced during the special 'services' event in March, Apple TV+ comes as Apple's own Netflix competitor.

The video subscription service offers a bunch of original shows, movies, and documentaries and will be available in 100 countries around the world starting November 1, Apple has said.

It will be available for users in India as well on the same day.

Content What shows Apple TV+ will have on offer?

According to the Cupertino giant, Apple TV+ will have the most powerful and inspiring line-up of originals.

This would include Hailee Steinfeld-starrer Dickinson, Battlestar Galactica creator Ronald D. Moore's For All Mankind, Jennifer Annison and Reese Witherspoon-starrer TV newsroom drama The Morning Show, Jason Momoa-starrer drama See, and a nature documentary called The Elephant Queen.

Platforms Apple platforms, website to offer TV+ content

Apple has said that the content of TV+ can be accessed either through the Apple TV app for iPhone, iPad, Apple TV, iPod Touch, Mac or through tv.apple.com.

The company has invested as much as $6 billion (over Rs. 50,000 crore) on the service's content and also promised to bring support for Amazon's Fire TV devices in the future.

Pricing And, you'd just have to Rs. 99/month

The best part about Apple TV+ is its amazing pricing.

Apple is charging just Rs. 99/month to offer full access to all the content on the service.

Notably, it will give a week's free trial as well as the option to share the subscription with as many as six family members without any additional charge.

Buying Apple hardware will get you one-year subscription for free

Among other things, Apple has also said that buying a new iPhone, iPad, Apple TV, iPod Touch or Mac will entitle you to a complete one-year subscription of Apple TV+ for free.
